What Patients Say About Us

General Question

Direct Primary Care (DPC) ( Membership FAQ)

Curious about Direct Primary Care and how it works? We’ve got you covered! Explore answers to the most common questions, including membership benefits, cost transparency, and how DPC simplifies your healthcare experience.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly membership fee for access to personalized, high-quality primary care without traditional insurance restrictions. This approach emphasizes the doctor-patient relationship and offers longer visits, same-day or next-day appointments, and direct communication with your provider.

No, while both DPC and concierge medicine offer a personalized approach, they differ in structure and costs. DPC practices typically have lower monthly fees and do not bill insurance, whereas concierge practices often charge a higher fee and may also bill insurance.

We no longer accept insurance for primary care visits. We do not bill insurance so we can offer longer appointments, same- or next-day access, and clear, predictable pricing.

You can still use your insurance for outside services such as labs, imaging, specialist care, and hospital visits. Many patients find that pairing Direct Primary Care with a high-deductible insurance plan saves money while providing far better access to their physician.

Yes — the new HR1 legislation recognizes Direct Primary Care as a qualified medical service. This allows many patients to use HSA funds toward their DPC membership without affecting their HSA eligibility.

  • HSAs: Most HSA plans can now be used for DPC memberships under HR1. There may be monthly limits set by the IRS, but DPC is now considered a qualified medical expense.

  • FSAs: Some FSAs may also reimburse DPC membership fees, but FSA rules vary by employer, so it’s best to confirm with your benefits administrator.

We provide receipts and documentation to make HSA/FSA use easy. Always check with your tax or benefits advisor to confirm how your specific plan applies the new HR1 rules.

DPC offers many benefits, including:
● Personalized Care: Extended visits allow us to thoroughly address your concerns.
● Easy Access: Same-day or next-day appointments are available, along with direct
communication.
● Transparent Costs: No surprise bills; membership covers most primary care needs.
● Preventative Focus: Emphasis on wellness and prevention, keeping you healthy
long-term.

We currently provide house calls to patients who are bed-bound or wheelchair-bound for a small additional fee per visit.

We don’t provide inpatient hospital care. However, we’re happy to coordinate with your hospital team for a smooth transition back to home care after your hospitalization.

The membership fee ensures personalized, high-quality care that is often unavailable in traditional insurance-based practices. This fee covers the time and resources required to provide attentive, accessible healthcare—similar to what you might pay for a gym membership.
